Mineral Wells, Texas: The Town Behind Crazy Water

Historic Mineral Wells Texas

An hour west of Fort Worth sits a small Texas town with an outsized place in the state's history: Mineral Wells. In the late 1800s, word spread about a natural mineral spring here, and the town grew up almost entirely around it.

By the early 1900s, Mineral Wells had hotels, bathhouses, and visitors coming from across the country to try the local water. That well is still the source of Crazy Water today, drawn from the same underground mineral deposits that first put this town on the map.

The town's identity is tied to the water in a way few places can claim. Even now, the local water tower reads "Home of Crazy Water."

Every bottle Mineral Texas Water delivers to Austin and San Antonio traces back to this one Texas town. It's a short supply chain and a long history.
